  Promise has her own house at the bottom of the farmhouse garden. She has acquired a large fan club of children from the village as I can see from the tell-tale sugar lump and sticky toffee papers that I find outside her door in the mornings!But then, all little boys and girls love ponies... even big little girls like me!
This book was written to show, as children already know, that animals are more sensible than most people an at least learn by their mistakes. I don't think the real inhabitabitants of Jollynice Farm would ever go on strike, they are all too happy with the way things are there.
